Rosemary extract
What you need to know
Rosemary extract is a natural antioxidant made from the herb. It protects oils in chips and snacks from going rancid.
It is one of the most common natural replacements for synthetic antioxidants.
EFSA evaluated it and found no safety concern at the levels used in food.

The same additive can be approved in one country and banned in another. This is the divergence that matters most.
